Sejak lahirnya sampai sekarang ini, bahasa Arab banyak mengalamiperubahan dari segi gaya bahasa dalam perolehan kosa-kata yang baru karenaproses pengambilan bahasa dengan penyerapan kata-kata asing. Proses inimerupakan suatu hal yang biasa dan bersifat lahiriah. Begitu juga bahasa Arab,secara alami banyak mempengaruhi dan dipengaruhi oleh bahasa-bahasa lain karenahubungannya dengan negara-negara tetangganya seperti: Persia, Habasyah, Syiriadan lain-lain. Berangkat dari hal tersebut maka munculah perbedaan pendapatdan terjadi perdebatan panjang tentang ada-tidaknya kata serapan dalam al-Qur’an,karena banyaknya bahasa Arab yang berasal dari bahasa serapan dan ayat-ayat al-Qur’an tertulis dengan bahasa Arab. Untuk itu makalah ini akan membahas adanyakata serapan menurut salah satu tokoh yang mengiyakan keberadaan kata serapandalam Al-Qur’an. Tokoh tersebut adalah Ibn Jarir at-Thobari yang memilikikedalaman ilmu tentang ilmu hadist, ilmu bahasa dan tafsir.
