SUBMISSION GUIDLINE

Journal of Indonesian Comparative of Sharia Law (JICL) accepts original manuscripts in the form of both conceptual works and empirical research results. Manuscripts published in JICL must fulfil the following format requirements:

  1. Manuscript Length

JICL accepts manuscripts with a range of 4,500 - 8,000 (four thousand five hundred to eight thousand words) excluding footnotes and bibliography.

  1. Language

JICL exclusively accepts manuscripts in Bahasa Indonesia, and follows good grammar and EYD rules, but Arabic or English articles are also acceptable.

  1. Plagiarism

The maximum simalirity (plagiarism) is 25%, articles with too high a plagiarism rate must be revised by the author, otherwise they will be rejected.

  1. Labelling

JICL can use the Introduction - Method - Discussion - Analysis - Result (IMRAD) format or a three-part format such as Introduction - Discussion - Conclusion. The elements of organisation in a JICL article are divided into the following sections:

INTRODUCTION

The introduction in a journal serves as a gateway for readers to understand and immerse themselves in the context of the research. In this section, the background of the problem is stated, presenting general information about the research topic and identifying the knowledge gap to be filled. The problem formulation and research objectives are clearly explained, providing a detailed view of the research focus. The benefits of the research are emphasised to underline the relevance and contribution of the research to a particular field of science or practice. A conceptual framework and hypotheses or research questions may also be introduced to provide a theoretical basis and direction for the research. In addition, research limitations and operational definitions are set to clarify the scope and understanding of concepts. A brief literature review is conducted to present the novelty of the submitted article. Overall, the introduction creates a solid foundation, motivates the reader to engage in the research, and presents a structured outline of the research to be outlined.

In the case of empirical/socio-legal research, authors are required to create a dedicated methodology section in the introduction.
