Open Access Policy

Ettisal: Journal of Communication upholds the principle that unrestricted access to scholarly work enhances global knowledge exchange and strengthens academic collaboration. All articles published in Ettisal are fully open access and made freely available online immediately upon publication, without subscription or access fees. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, provided the use is non-commercial and the original source is properly cited.

All works published in Ettisal: Journal of Communication are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Under this license, users may share (copy and redistribute) and adapt (remix, transform, build upon) the material for non-commercial purposes, so long as appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the journal, a link to the license is provided, and derivative works are distributed under the same license. Commercial reuse of published content is not permitted without prior written permission from both the author(s) and the journal.

Authors retain full copyright of their work while granting Ettisal: Journal of Communication the right of first publication. Authors are allowed and encouraged to deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories or personal websites, with proper acknowledgment of Ettisal as the original venue of publication. Through its open access policy, Ettisal seeks to promote ethical scholarship, increase visibility of communication studies, and enhance global access to high-quality academic research.

Archiving Policy

Ettisal: Journal of Communication ensures long-term digital preservation of all published content through the PKP-PN system. This provides secure and reliable archival storage to guarantee continuous access even in cases of system failures.

In addition to PKP-PN, archive copies are maintained on the journal’s official website. The journal also deposits all published articles in the University Repository of the Universitas Darussalam Gontor, following the archiving policy available at the university library website. Publication Frequency

Ettisal: Journal of Communication is published twice a year, in June and December, with each issue containing 5–15 high-quality articles.
The publication timeline is as follows:

  1. Review Duration: Typically 4–5 months, depending on the number of submissions received. The journal regularly receives a high volume of manuscripts. For inquiries, authors may contact the Handling Editor.

  2. Acceptance Notification for June Issue: By June 10th

On average, the period between initial submission and final publication ranges from 10–18 months, depending on the review process and revision cycles.
