Author Guidelines

Guideline for Online Submission

Authors need to promptly register through the following address: https://ejournal.unida.gontor.ac.id/index.php/atj/user/register  before they are offered a reviewer. On the site, they are expected to be as detailed as possible in places that are marked with stars in the form. After all the form's text box are filled, the author shall click on the "Register" button to proceed in the registration. Doing this brings them to the online author submission interface, where they are expected to click on the "New Submission" button. In the Start a New Submission section, click on "'Click Here', to go to step one of the five-step submission process" which include:

  1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: The author needs to add check-mark on the submission checklists and copy-paste or type the cover letter to "Comments for the Editor".
  2. Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to ATJ, click Browse on the Upload submission file icon and select the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click the "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded.
  3. Step 3 – Entering Submission Metadata: In this step, detailed authors metadata needs to be submitted, including the marked corresponding author. Furthermore, the manuscript title and abstract need to be submitted by copying and pasting the text in the text box including the keywords.
  4. Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file needs to be uploaded. Therefore, click on the Browse button, choose the files, and then click on the Upload button.
  5. Step 5 – Confirming the Submission: The Author needs to final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step (to ensure it is the right manuscript), and then click on the Finish Submission button to submit it. The corresponding author or the principal contact will then obtain an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission progress through the editorial process by logging in into this journal’s web address site.

After submission, the authors will get a confirmation email about the submission. Hence, authors can track their submission progress by logging into the journal's submission interface at any time. The submission progress tracking incorporates a status of manuscript review and editorial process. General Requirements

  1. The authors must ensure that the submitted articles is authentic and never published in other journals.
  2. The articles that will be publicated in ATJ can be research results, policies analysis, brief communications, opinions, concepts and reviews.
  3. The articles can be written in Indonesia or English using a format that complies with the language rules. The editor does not accept articles which’s not meet the requested requirements.
  4. The published articles determined by ATJ Editors Board based on competent Peer-Reviewers judgment.
  5. The articles sent to editors via Open Journal Systems (OJS). The articles must be written in Microsoft Word and table/figures/graphs in Microsoft Excel. Any difficulties may communicate with ATJ admin contact : +62-85766890141

 

Writing Standards

  1. The articles should be typed in 1,5 space except for Title, Abstarct, Figures title and Tables title typed with 1 space. Margins : top, bottom, left and right in 2.5 cm. The articles typed in two column (0.75 spacing) of A4 paper with 3.000 – 6.000 words.
  2. The articles should be typed using Microsoft Word software, Figures using JPEG or TGIF format, if there are graphs, attached the master files/Microsoft Excel. The standard font is Times New Roman 12.
  3. The articles should be arranged in sequence: title, authors name, authors institution’ full addresses, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusions, acknowledgements (optional), and references. Institutional address (street, number, city, zip code) and authors email need to written clearly.
  4. Binomial or trinomial (italic) latin nomenclature is used for plants, animals, insects, and diseases. The full chemical name is used for the compounds at the first mention.
  5. Measurement unit used is International Standard (IS).
  6. The writing of decimal numbers for Bahasa is using comma (,) and for English is using point (.).

 

Articles Writing Procedure

Title. Title should be short, spesific, and informative which reflects precisely the content of the articles, maximum in 15 words written in Bahasa and in English. The title followed by authors name, institutions and addresses, and footnote reffering to the corresponding author(s), complete with mailing address, phone number, faximile, and email.

Abstract. Abstract are written in Bahasa and English consists of 200-250 words in one paragraph. Abstract contains the brief summary of the entire articles, i.e background, goals, methods, important results, discussion, and conclusions. Avoid using abbreviations unless it has been commonly used.

Keywords. Keywords are written in Bahasa and English, consists of  3-5 words/phrases and arranged by importance and presented at the end of abstract.

Introduction. In this section, presented a background that is supported by the brief literature, goals, and scopes of research if needed, so the readers can evaluate the results without having to read the previous publications. The literatures used must be truly relevant to the research. Literature review should be integrated in the introduction, methodology, and discussion.

Materials and Methods. This section contains technical and detailed information, so the experiment can be repeated as well by other researchers. If special equipments/instruments are used, it necessary to provide the specifications and operating conditions. The methods section need to include:

  • The objective, design and setting of the study
  • The characteristics of participants or description of materials
  • A vivid description of all conducted processes and methodologies, which involves using generic names. Besides, when proprietary brands are used in study, the brand names are required to be included in parentheses.
  • The type of statistical analysis employed, including a power calculation when appropriate such as the statistical softwares used.
  • Studies that involves human participants, or data or tissue from animals need to provide statement on ethics consent and approval.

Results and Discussion.

  • This section contains data (in short form), data analysis and interpretation of results.
  • The discussion is carried out by linking it with other theories or research to support the interpretation of existing data or results.
  • This section can be divided into several subsections, but there is no need to include the numbering.
  • The title of the table and numbered sequentially according to the text.
  • Data presented in average form is equipped with Standard Deviation (SD) or Standard Error of Mean (SEM) in tables or figures.
  • The data is in the form of statistical analysis with information related to the sampling procedure, repetition, and statistical methods used.

Conclusions and Recommendations

Conclusions are written briefly but illustrates the research results subtances.

Recommendations are given clearly to be acted by relevant party.

Acknowledgments (Optional) This section can be used to appreciate funders, institutions, and personals who assisted during research and articles preparation.

References

  • This section contains only the references it actually refers to.
  • The number of references recommended ranges from 15 to 25.
  • References can be in the form of journals, proceedings, thesis/dissertation, books, chapters in book and paten.
  • References referred to in the manuscript 80% are from journals and issues of the last 10 (ten) years.
  • The library format is based on the APA (American Psychological Association) Style.
  • Bibliography arranged alphabetically. No need to be grouped by book, journal, newspaper, or by other types of publication.
  • If there is a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) Number must be included.

Reference management software

For Authors who use Mendeley Desktop are allowed to easily install the reference style for this journal by clicking the following link: http://csl.mendeley.com/searchByName/?style. Moreover, the author will be able to select this style using Mendeley plug-ins or LibreOffice when organizing the manuscript. All cited publications in the text need to be presented in a list of references after the manuscript's text. At last, the manuscript needs to be thoroughly checked to confirm that the spelling of authors' names and dates are exactly the same in the text as in the reference list.
