The Secrets of the Major Derivation Differences and The Variation in Meaning of the Letter 'Ha, Mim, Lam' in the al-Qur'an

Abstract

The study of derivation from Qur'anic words, such as "Ha, Mim, Lam', reveals the depth and richness of the Arabic language and its diverse meanings. This study indicates that the meaning of words is shaped by the context in which they appear, giving each word a unique expressive value. The study aims to explore the major derivations of the letters "Ha, Mim, Lam' in the Qur'an, focusing on the various meanings of nouns formed from these letters. Using a descriptive and analytical library research method, the researcher found that the word Hamala branches into six different linguistic materials, each with distinct meanings in the Qur'an, such as Hamala referring to carrying on the back, and Halama associated with dreams. The research revealed that each derivation carries multiple meanings depending on the context, such as the difference between Hamala and Halama in terms of carrying on the back or in the womb. The study also highlighted that the major derivations of the letters "Ha, Mim, Lam' encompass a wide range of meanings, including punishment and bliss, showcasing the richness of Qur'anic language. The researcher recommends a deeper understanding of the meanings of Qur'anic words and acknowledges the unique and irreplaceable significance of these words due to their specific connotations.
