About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health (JIHOH) is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal published biannually (April and October). It serves as a platform for exchanging ideas, findings, and innovations in the broad field of occupational health and safety.

The journal primarily publishes original research articles but also welcomes review papers, short communications, commentaries on pressing issues, and case studies. Topics of high priority include:

  • Occupational health and safety
  • Industrial hygiene
  • Ergonomics
  • Fire protection systems
  • Accident investigation methods
  • Epidemiological surveys related to workplace safety

JIHOH aims to improve workplace health and safety, prevent occupational accidents and diseases, and foster safer, more comfortable working environments.

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process by at least two reviewers. The Chief Editor, in consultation with the Editorial Board, makes the final decision based on reviewer feedback.

The journal uses Turnitin to screen for plagiarism, with a maximum tolerance of 20%, to ensure the integrity and originality of published works.

Open Access Policy

JIHOH is committed to the open-access model, providing immediate, unrestricted access to its content. This policy supports the global exchange of knowledge by making research freely accessible to the public.

Publication Ethics

JIHOH adheres to the highest standards of ethical publishing, as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This policy applies to all stakeholders, including authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers, ensuring transparency and accountability at every stage of the publication process.

Author Fees

To support operational and publication costs, JIHOH applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 750,000 for each article accepted and published.

Journal History

The Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health (JIHOH) was established in 2016, with its first issue in October 2016, and continuously published biannually in April and October. the milestone of JIHOH is summarized as follows

1. October 2016 first issued, and all articles get DOI (previous and next articles) from Crossref

2. March 12th 2017, indexed in IPI Portal Garuda

3. December 2017, indexed in Sinta (S4)

4. October 2024, indexed in Sinta (S3)

As a scientific publication, JIHOH published topics in Occupational safety and health science in general, including reviews and short or research articles. JIHOH Editor in chief since established is Dr. Sisca Mayang Phuspa, M.Sc (University of Darussalam Gontor), with editor board from several institutions, including Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Hassanuddin, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Airlangga and Universitas Andalas.
