Bahasa merupakan sistem, tentu saja bahasa bersifat sistemis ataumempunyai atauran-aturan yang khas. Lebih jelasnya, bahasa merupakanfenomena yang memadukan bagian makna dan bagian bunyi mempunyai 3subsistem, yaitu subsistem fonologis, subsistem gramatikal, dan subsistem leksikal.Morfologi atau tata bentuk adalah bidang linguistik yang mempelajari susunanbagian-bagian kata secara gramatikal. Sedangkan proses morfologis adalah suatuproses yang mengubah leksem atau satuan leksikal menjadi kata.Dalam proses pembentukan kata ada tiga komponen yang sangat eratberkaitan, yaitu leksem (input), morfem dan kata (output). Dengan kata lainproses pembentukan kata itu bisa terjadi pula proses pembentukan morfematau satuan terkecil kata. Seluk-beluk struktur kata serta pengaruh perubahan-perubahan struktur kata terhadap golongan dan arti atau makna kata itulahyang dipelajari oleh bidang morfologi. Begitu pula dalam bahasa Arab yangbertipe fleksi; bahasa yang tidak bisa terlepas dari seluk-beluk perubahan-perubahan struktur kata. Oleh karena itu, merupakan hal yang menarik apabilapembentukan kata dalam kajian bahasa Arab dapat ditelaah dan dikaji secaramendalam dalam sebuah analisis morfologis. Sehingga diharapkan akanmenghasilkan paradigma baru dalam memahami bahasa Arab.
