Abstract

Cara pandang kita kepada pendidikan dan peserta didik sangatmenentukan sikap dan perilaku kita pada mereka, oleh karena itu dalam jangkapendek kedua hal tersebut harus diperbaruhi sebagai dasar dalammemperbaharui tugas-tugasnya sebagai pelaku tenaga kependidikan. Pendidikanharus dikembalikan pada watak aslinya, yaitu mengantarkan peserta didik menjadianak bangsa meraih derajad unggul baik dari aspek intelektual, sepiritual, jiwadan raga serta akhlaqnya.Pendidikan karakter bukan hanya terletak pada tanggung jawab guruagama atau guru budi pekerti, melainkah merupakan tanggung jawab semuapihak yang terlibat dalam proses pendidikan. Selain itu, dalam pendidikankarakter, semua mata pelajaran seperti biologi, kimia, fisika, matematika,sosiologi, psikologi, sejarah dan lain-lain, muaranya adalah untuk meningkatkankesadaran akan eksistensi akan dirinya, Tuhannya dan makna atau arti hidupsecara keseluruhan. Dengan begitu diharapkan akan tumbuh keimanan yangselanjutnya membuahkan amal saleh dan akhlaqul karimah atau karakter yangunggul.
