Abstrak

The rapid advancements in technology have profound implications for human interaction, and this research seeks to explore the phenomenon of identity manipulation in the documentary film 'The Tinder Swindler'. Utilising a qualitative descriptive approach, this study methodically analyses the strategy of fake identity formation, the role of digital media platforms, the implications for digital literacy, and the perspective of Islamic communication ethics on identity manipulation.The findings of this research unveil the intricate nature of digital identity manipulation in the contemporary era. The case study of the film 'The Tinder Swindler' demonstrates how digital technology can be exploited to create the illusion of a convincing identity, while also showing the weaknesses in the security system of today's digital platforms.
