About the Journal

Journal of Islamic Economics and Philanthropy (JIEP) [E-ISSN: 2655-335X], a leading national and international journal, provides a forum for publishing quality research in the areas of Islamic Economics and Philanthropy. JIEP is published by Department of Islamic Economic, Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Darussalam Gontor Ponorogo Indonesia. It is published fourth a year on February, May, August, November. JIEP accepts articles that is using quantitative and qualitative approaches. It uses English and Indonesia manuscript.

All styles of research, theoretical and empirical, case studies, practice-based papers and research notes that are well written and falling within the journal's scope, are generally welcomed by the journal.

JIEP aims to give significant contribution for the advancement of Islamic economics and philanthropy knowledge based on Islamic teaching and to affect positive impact on the welfare of people around the world. JIEP welcomes pioneering contributions to economists, practitioners, and scientific experts in Islamic economics at Islamic Institutions.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to this journal must follow the focus, scope, and author guidelines of this journal. The submitted manuscripts must have scientific merit or novelty appropriate to the focus and scope of this journal.

All manuscripts submitted to this journal must be written in excellent academic English. Non-native authors are encouraged to have their papers checked for grammar and clarity before submission. English language and copyediting services can be provided by International Science Editing and Asia Science Editing. The work must not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

All submitted manuscripts must be free from plagiarism contents. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection software to do the similarity checking (please use Turnitin or iThenticate to check the similarity). Editors will also check the similarity of manuscripts in this journal by using a Turnitin or iThenticate software.

The submitted manuscripts to this journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) or more expert reviewers from Peer-Reviewers Team. The reviewers give valuable scientific comments improving the contents of the manuscript. Sometimes (if required) a third peer-reviewer is needed to give critical comments to the submitted manuscript. The review process used in this journal is a blind review system.

The final decision of manuscript acceptance is solely made by Editor in Chief (together with Editorial Board is required for consideration) according to reviewers critical comments. The final decision of the manuscript is solely based on the Editor and Editorial Board final review, which considering peer-reviewers comments (but not solely by Reviewer).

Editor in Chief will make a publication of accepted articles including the assigning the article to the published issue by considering the sequence of accepted date and geographical distribution of authors as well as a thematic issue.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication Ethics and Allegations of Research Misconduct

JIEP: Journal of Islamic Economics and Philanthropy is a peer-reviewed national and  international journal. This statement clarifies the ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal as well as allegations of research misconduct, including the author, the chief editor, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewer and the publisher (University of Darussalam Gontor). 

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed Journal of Islamic Economics and Philanthropy journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is, therefore, important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher, and the society. 

University of Darussalam Gontor as the publisher of JIEP: Journal of Islamic Economics and Philanthropy takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing extremely seriously, and we recognize our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. Also, the Department of Islamic Economics University of Darussalam Gontor and Editorial Board will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful and necessary.

Screening For Plagiarism

All articles submitted to Journal of Islamic Economics and Philanthropy must be the original work (free of plagiarism). The submitted article has never existed in any media and/or is not being or will be submitted in any medias. The author is responsible for the authenticity of the submitted manuscript. All incoming articles will be checked for authenticity to prevent plagiarism by using Turnitin anti-plagiarism software. Any forms of high-level plagiarism will be banned (temporary up to permanent banned). The submitted manuscript would be check plagiarism using turnitin with maximum tolerance 20 percent.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. All content in the CLOCKSS Archive and the Global LOCKSS Network is preserved with explicit publisher permission, secured via written contract or through online permission statements. We work closely with LOCKSS network implementers to facilitate development of governance and legal terms that are appropriate to the implicated content, jurisdictions, rights, and access affordances.
