1. Open Access Policy

The Indonesian Journal of Islamization Studies (INJAS) is firmly committed to the principles of open access, believing that freely accessible scholarly work accelerates global knowledge exchange, fosters academic collaboration, and strengthens the development of Islamic studies. All articles published in INJAS are immediately available online without subscription fees or access barriers.

INJAS operates under the principle that open access promotes the advancement of science, enhances the visibility of research, and supports equitable access to knowledge, particularly in the field of Islamization studies.

2. Open Access Statement

As an open access journal, INJAS allows all readers worldwide to:
a. Read and download articles freely
b. Copy and distribute content
c. Link to full texts
d. Use and build upon published works within the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license
e. No fees are required for accessing any content published in INJAS.

3. Licensing and Copyright
Creative Commons License: All articles published in INJAS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Under this license, users are permitted to:
a. Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
b. Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use.

Under the following conditions:
a. Attribution: Users must give appropriate credit to the author(s) and INJAS, provide a link to the license, and indicate if any changes were made. Attribution must not imply endorsement by the author(s) or the journal.
b. No additional restrictions may be applied that conflict with the CC BY 4.0 license terms. INJAS strictly follows DOAJ’s guidance that Creative Commons licenses cannot be modified or restricted.

4. Copyright and Author Rights

INJAS follows DOAJ’s recommendation that authors should retain copyright without restrictions. Accordingly:
a. Author Copyright Retention
b. Authors retain full copyright of their work.
c. Authors grant INJAS the right of first publication and a non-exclusive license to publish and disseminate the article.
d. Author Reuse Rights

Authors may:
a. Share, distribute, and reproduce their published articles anywhere (institutional repositories, personal websites, academic networks).
b. Use the article for teaching, conference presentations, derivative works, and future research.
c. Deposit the published PDF in any repository of their choice.
d. These permissions remain valid as long as proper citation is maintained acknowledging INJAS as the original place of publication.

Restrictions Not Permitted : Following DOAJ policy and CC licensing standards:
a. INJAS does not require authors to transfer copyright.
b. “All rights reserved” is never applied to any INJAS publication.
c. "Fair use"–based restrictions are not compatible with open access and are not used.
d. INJAS does not impose exclusive publication rights, commercial rights transfer, or limitations that contradict CC BY 4.0.
e. Archiving and Preservation Policy

INJAS is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of all published scholarly content through multiple archiving systems.

5. Archive and Preservation

Long Term: INJAS archives every issue and article on Internet Archive (https://archive.org/details/injas), a globally recognized digital preservation platform.
Each published article is:
a. Uploaded with its full-text PDF
b. Assigned persistent archive.org identifiers
c. Preserved for permanent public access

This ensures availability even in the event of website failure or journal discontinuation.

Internal Archiving: Publisher use Google Drive Repository. INJAS maintains an internal backup of all submitted manuscripts, supplementary files, and editorial documents on a secure Google Drive system. Submissions are organized and stored at:

This ensures that all documents remain accessible to authors, reviewers, and editorial staff throughout the editorial process.
