Publication Ethics Policy
The Indonesian Journal of Islamization Studies (INJAS) is committed to upholding high ethical standards in the academic publishing process to ensure the quality of scholarly works and foster public trust in research outcomes. This ethics policy refers to the 'Code of Conduct and Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors' by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the 'Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing' published jointly by COPE, the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
Ethical Guidelines for Editors
Editorial Process
Editors are responsible for ensuring that the peer-review process is fair, objective, and timely. Editors must provide authors with clear information about each stage of the review and publication process.
Editorial Decisions
Decisions to accept or reject a manuscript must be based on its quality, originality, relevance, and scientific contribution. Evaluation must not be influenced by the author's race, gender, institutional affiliation, or political/religious beliefs.
Confidentiality
Information about submitted manuscripts must be kept confidential and shared only with those involved in the review and publication process. Editors must not use unpublished material from submissions for personal gain or research.
Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers
Accountability and Responsibility
Reviewers must conduct reviews professionally and responsibly. The review report should be written by the reviewer personally unless permission is given by the editor to involve others. Reviewers must not coerce authors into citing their work unless justified by academic relevance.
Objectivity and Fairness
Reviews must be objective and constructive. Personal attacks on authors are not acceptable. Criticism must be supported by reasoned arguments.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers with conflicts of interest (personal, financial, professional, etc.) must decline to review. This includes being affiliated with the same institution or having past collaborations with the author(s).
Confidentiality
Manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers must report ethical issues such as plagiarism to the editor without conducting their own investigation.

Authors are responsible for accurately citing and referencing the work of others. Plagiarism or any form of academic misconduct is strictly prohibited. See detail policy: https://ejournal.unida.gontor.ac.id/index.php/INJAS/JournalPolicyPlagiarism
Authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise, that could be perceived to influence the results or interpretation of their work.
All sources and references used must be cited properly according to Chicago (Full Note/Footnote) Style. Direct or indirect quotations must be clearly attributed.

Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable in INJAS. Editors may use plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin) and will reject manuscripts if plagiarism is confirmed. Data fabrication, manipulation of images, or selective analysis to support a specific outcome is considered unethical.
Article Retraction
Authors are expected to promptly notify the journal of any errors, inaccuracies, or discrepancies in their published work. Corrections or retractions may be issued as necessary.
Retraction may charged fee if article has been reviewed or processed in production.
Published articles can only be retracted in serious cases such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication. Retraction notices will include the article title, authors, reason, and initiator, and will be linked to the online article version.

Authors also allowed to provide access to research data either through public repositories or as supplementary material.
Duplicate or Concurrent Submissions
Manuscripts under review elsewhere or already published cannot be submitted to INJAS. Submissions based on conference papers or theses are acceptable with proper declaration.
Research Ethics Oversight
