Islam's Contribution to the Modern Mathematics Development

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi modern menjadi pusat dari peran dan kontribusi Islam. Tercatat banyak dari kalangan muslim yang turut serta dalam perkembangan matematika modern dan menyusun kontribusi revolusioner yang membentuk dasar-dasar matematika modern. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode studi literatur (library research), adapun analisis datanya menggunakan content analysis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk: 1) memberikan informasi kepada para pembaca mengenai kontribusi Islam dalam perkembangan matematika modern, 2) memotivasi para pembaca agar memiliki semangat belajar seperti halnya para ilmuwan muslim pada masa itu. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan ditemukannya angka nol oleh oleh Al Khawarizmi menjadi sebuah konsep revolusioner dalam berbagai bidang ilmu eksakta. Hal ini juga menjadi pertanda bahwa kontribusi para ilmuwan muslim banyak membawa dampak berkelanjutan bagi perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi di era modern terutama pada bidang matematika modern.
