IMPLEMENTATION OF AN INTEGRATIVE CURRICULUM IN KINDY AFKAARUNA ISLAMIC SCHOOL AND ITS RELEVANCE TO THE ATTITUDE OF RELIGIOUS MODERATION

Abstract

As a universal religion, Islam encourages its followers to be moderate in responding to diversity. A moderate attitude does not necessarily appear in a Muslim, but rather comes from the inspiration of his life experience from an early age. For this reason, moderate attitudes need to be instilled since early childhood education. One of them is by introducing an integrative curriculum in schools. One of the PAUD schools that implement an integrative curriculum is Kindy Afkaaruna Islamic School in Sleman, Yogyakarta. This study aims to analyze the implementation of an integrative curriculum based on Islam, local values, and international minded-ness in the school. This study is a qualitative research with descriptive analytical by taking the sources of interviews, observations, and documents. The data analysis method used is the method according to Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This research produces a description of the application of the integrative curriculum at Kindy Afkaaruna through programs and learner activities. In addition, this study also describes the relevance of the curriculum to the formation of moderate attitudes in religion.
