Abstract

The advancement of educational technology reflects a significant development in human civilization, though it is not without negative implications. Technology serves not only as a tool but also shapes a worldview that influences perspectives on knowledge. In the context of modern education, technology can shift the role of teachers and alter learning approaches, diminishing the importance of memorization and even eroding religious values. This study aims to propose solutions through the concept of ta’dib in response to the challenges posed by modern education. A descriptive-analytical method with a philosophical approach is employed to explore the impact of technology and the concept of ta’dib in education. The findings highlight three main points. Firstly, technology is not merely a tool; it shapes a worldview that facilitates learning processes yet simultaneously introduces new issues. Secondly, the concept of ta’dib, as proposed by al-Attas, emphasizes education that cultivates the insan kamil—a complete individual who can appropriately position things, recognize their inherent nature, and fulfil their role as servant and steward on earth. Thirdly, to prevent technology from undermining fundamental human values, a critical perspective and limitations on its use are essential. Through this approach, technology does not replace essential human needs, thus preserving the innate nature of humanity. Keyword : insan kamil, fitrah, technology, ta'dib, worldview
