Abstract

Quality of life is an important indicator in evaluating the success of health service interventions. Based on previous studies, data were collected through interviews and filling out the Diabetes Quality of Life Clinical Trial Questionnaire (DQLCTQ) questionnaire to assess QOL. This study aims to describe the quality of life and examine the relationship between patient characteristics (gender, age, employment status, marital status, blood sugar levels, type of treatment, and duration of diabetes) and the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital. The research was conducted using cross-sectional design, which required 60 samples. Sampling was done through the Purposive Sampling method with interviews using the Diabetes Quality of Life Clinical Trial Questionnaire questionnaire. The data analysis process will be carried univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the study show that 42 (70%) respondents reported a good QOL in the "Health Pressures" domain, 32 (53.33%) respondents reported a poor QOL in the "Personal Satisfaction" domain, and 30 (50%) respondents reported both good and poor QOL in the "Treatment Effects" domain. There was a relationship between marital status characteristics and the mental health domain (p<0.05) as well as the personal satisfaction domain (p<0.05). The majority of respondents had a good quality of life and there was a relationship between marital status and the mental health and personal satisfaction domains.
