SANTRI MILENIAL GO DIGITAL : TANTANGAN DAN PELUANG PENDIDIKAN PESANTREN DI ERA DIGITAL
Abstract
Pesantren is currently a fundamental pillar of Islamic education in Indonesia. Amid the crisis in moral and ethical values, pesantren continues to exist with its curriculum and educational system firmly rooted in Islamic values. This study aims to analyze the impact of technological development on education in pesantren and explore the opportunities and challenges it presents. This research is a library research, which gathers various sources of data from related studies. Based on the collected data, the author has found several key results. First, the rapid development of technology today presents an opportunity for pesantren educational institutions to enhance their learning systems, including the development of da'wah (Islamic preaching) that is both inclusive and universal, while maintaining Islamic values. However, the challenge lies in the need for adaptation, digital literacy, and ethics in the digital age. Second, the educational life in pesantren continues to evolve. Pesantren, which has been a key reference for unique Indonesian education for centuries, has now become an inclusive Islamic educational institution that keeps pace with the times. Pesantren strives to always open new avenues for knowledge by adopting new, more relevant values that provide benefits and enhance its ability to preserve its existence. This aligns with the principle of *Al-Muhafadatu ‘ala al-Qiyam wa at-taghyiru ila al-kamal* (preserving the core values while evolving toward perfection).
