Abstract

Productive waqf is a form of waqf concept that does not only provide benefits in the spiritual aspect, but also in the economic and social aspects. In this case based on Law no. 41 of 2004 as a source of law to provide general instructions regarding asset management in developing waqf assets productively. As well as utilizing waqf assets in accordance with the objectives of waqif in Islamic sharia teachings. This study aims to determine the productive waqf management at the Riyadhul Jannah Islamic Boarding School and review the benefits of waqf management for the welfare of orphans and the poor in several aspects. This research is a qualitative research with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. As well as data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis consisting of data reduction. The results of this study indicate that productive waqf management at the Riyadhul Jannah Islamic Boarding School has developed and is capable of being productive in terms of dormitories and education in four different locations. However, waqf management is still traditional and consumptive. Management of waqf at the Riyadhul Jannah Islamic Boarding School through three governance mechanisms such as: collecting waqf assets, productive waqf assets and utilizing productive waqf results. With the waqf governance mechanism, the benefits felt for welfare at the Riyadhul Jannah Islamic Boarding School are seen in several welfares, namely: hifz al-diin, hifz al-maal, hifz al-’aql, hifz nasl and hifz an-nafs.
