Archiving Policy

Al-Muamalat: Journal of Islamic Economics Law implements the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to enable a distributed archiving system among participating libraries. This allows each library to create permanent archives of the journal's content for the purposes of long-term preservation and restoration.

In addition, Al-Muamalat: Journal of Islamic Economics Law ensures electronic backup and preservation of its content through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). More details are available in the Publisher Manifest.

The Public Knowledge Project (PKP) has developed the PKP Preservation Network to digitally safeguard journals using the Open Journal Systems (OJS). The LOCKSS program provides a decentralized and distributed approach to preservation, ensuring continuous access and maintaining the authenticity of original published materials. The PKP PN is especially valuable for journals that are not affiliated with other preservation services like CLOCKSS or Portico, ensuring they are securely archived for future access. For further information, please refer to the PKP PN overview document.
