Corak Toleransi dalam Beragama: Studi Analisis Paguyuban Sumarah Tulungagung

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of human life in social relations. Human interaction in carrying out its activities in the midst of community plurality, often cannot provide the meaning of tolerance in action. So it is necessary to agree on the form of tolerance in society. Especially in Tulungagung, not a few have experienced conflicts and problems, especially in the realm of religion and belief. Sumarah is one of the believers who needs other people in carrying out their lives. Sumarah's social relations are an interesting polemic in relation to a plural society. So how does Sumarah interpret tolerance with society. The purpose of this research, among others is to understand the meaning and form of tolerance in a plural society for the Sumarah Society in Tulungagung. This research uses a type of qualitative research or field study. Techniques used in searching and collecting data by means of interviews, observation and documentation. While the data analysis technique uses data condensation, data presentation and conclusion drawing. This research describes and explains according to the facts of reality related to the conpcept of tolerance of the Sumarah. The results of this research indicate that, Sumarah has a concept of practice in running life. Awareness of evolution is obtained from Sumarah prostration. The organization of activities with cross-people shows the unification of people in one community.
