Abstract

The Society 5.0 era emphasizes the importance of individual adaptation to rapid and complex digital transformation, encouraging the education sector to equip Human Resources (HR) with innovative and critical skills. Islamic boarding schools as Islamic-based educational institutions play a strategic role in shaping the character of students who can adapt to technological changes, without ignoring the values of the boarding school. This article explores the implementation of digital literacy policies at the Assalafiyah Mlangi Islamic Boarding School as a step to prepare students to face the challenges of the Society 5.0 Era. This study uses a qualitative method with case studies through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The research findings show that the boarding school policy that integrates the digital literacy curriculum, teacher training, and digital infrastructure development has encouraged increased students' digital skills, while maintaining technological ethics according to Islamic values. The obstacles faced include limited infrastructure and knowledge gaps among students, which are overcome through collaboration with the government and supporting organizations. The recommendations of this study include technology subsidies, universal digital literacy modules, and scholarship programs to support the transformation of boarding schools in facing the Society 5.0 Era.
