Abstract

Nowadays, Arabic Language is a main lesson that taught in all Islamic boarding school because the need for Arabic language was so high and it was an international and islamic civilization language. As an Islamic boarding school that also teaches Arabic Language by using Durusullughah Arabiyyah Book to its student, the Arabic Language teaching method and its strategy in Tahfidzul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School SahabatQu really need to be updated. This must be done because the Islamic boarding school has not made Arabic Language lesson as the main subject besides memorizing the Al Qur’an, even thought Arabic Language has a closed relationship and strong influence on memorizing Al Qur’an. So, Arabic Language Education and Training and Character Building Program in University of Darussalam Gontor established some collaboration in Arabic Language learning for six days in a row. This is a type of intensive Arabic Language learning which is a learning innovation quickly and throughly to achieve the desired result within the specified time. Then, this study aims to identify and describe the process of Arabic Language learning  implemented by the teacher of this program and its effectiveness for student by using Direct Method during the program which was carried out for six days. This paper is written based on field research uses descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques of observation, documentation and test. So analyzed by Miles and Huberman model data which has tree stage: Data Display, Data Reduction, and Conclusion. As a result, the realization of this program generated several points as follow: 1) Curriculum planning and inplementation in this program runs according to the agreed time, 2) In the implementation of academic activities in Arabic Language learning can met the needs of students, and 3) There is an effectiveness in Arabic Language learning as seen from the test result which showed a significant difference in it.
