Social media platforms have released the boundaries of geographical stretch and demographic regions that approve the infiltration of particular mindsets, lifestyles, and behavioral tendencies. The use of social media in the public sphere has led to a distinctive social behavior in the form of lifestyle dubbed flexing. The flexing lifestyle is a behavioral phenomenon to exhibit one's wealth and self-achievement to urge society to be wasteful. This study aims to examine the phenomenon of flexing from the perspective of the Qur'an; analyze the term al-ḥayāt al-dunyā in the verse of QS. al-Ḥadīd [57]: 20. This research employs interpretive-qualitative analysis using a semantic analysis approach designed by Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas in examining conceptual meanings in the Qur'an. The results of this study indicate that flexing is a nefarious consumption behavior in socio-economic theory refers as emulative consumption. This behavior has become a lifestyle and has impacted the community's mode of living. This lifestyle in the Qur'anic term is called al-ḥayāt al-dunyā, semantically a lowly lifestyle. This concept emerges from a semantic analysis of the phrase al-ḥayāt al-dunyā comprising the meanings la'ib (game), lahw (joking), zīnah (things that are dear to human lust), tafākhur (proud of one's achievements in facade of people), takāṡur (competing in the accumulation of wealth), farḥ (momentary happiness), matā' (temporary pleasure), and ghurūr (something that deceives). In the light of the Qur'an, this behavior is a demeanor mode of living, because it disregards the disobedient from remembering God and the afterlife.
2024-07-01T13:28:07+07:00Rochmad Rochmadrochmat@unida.gontor.ac.idRadwan Jamal Yousef Elatrashradwan@iium.edu.my
Ismail Raji al-Faruqi and Sayyid Muhammad Naquib al-Attas were the founders of the Islamization of Knowledge movement. As Muslim philosophers, both have their own methods in formulating thoughts that originate from the Qur’an and Sunnah. So this research tries to reveal the method of Ismail Raji al-Faruqi and Sayyid Muhammad Naquib al-Attas in revealing the meanings contained in the verses of the Qur'an. This research uses a descriptive analysis method to compare the interpretation methods used by al-Faruqi and al-Attas. Among the conclusions of this research is that al-Faruqi uses an axiological approach in interpreting the Qur'an, where the verses of the Qur'an have a multi-level axiological value. Whereas al-Attas uses a semantic approach in interpreting the verses of the Qur'an and refers to elements of bil ma'tsur such as the Hadith of the Prophet SAW.
2024-08-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Rochmad, Radwan Jamal Yousef Elatrashhttps://ejournal.unida.gontor.ac.id/index.php/quranika/article/view/11677The Engagement of Qur'anic Sciences2024-05-20T11:18:37+07:00Achmad Khusnul Khitamkhitammaliki@gmail.com
This article aims to observe the substantive contact between the concept of al-manṭūq wa al-mafhūm in uṣūl al-fiqh and the three functions of Gracia’s hermeneutics. This article focuses on elaborating both conceptions substantively and applying them to some verses of the Qur’an to understand the rendezvous of both concepts, particularly in the interpretative sphere. This article uses both semantic and interpretative approaches in order to analyze the objects. Based on this result, it is found that there is a substantive contact between both conceptions. Firstly, both conceptions are used to determine the original meaning of the text; the uṣūl al-fiqh employs the term of al-ma'nā al-manṭūq, while Gracia’s hermeneutics uses the “historical function.” Secondly, both conceptions can also be used to produce new contemporary meanings; the uṣūl al-fiqh utilizes the term of al-ma'nā al-mafhūm, while Gracia’s hermeneutics employs the “meaning function.” Third, a certain response must be made to the contemporary meaning. In this regard, the uṣūl al-fiqh stipulates this in the process of istinbāṭ al-ḥukm, while Gracia’s hermeneutics calls this as the “implicative function.”
2024-08-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Achmad Khusnul Khitamhttps://ejournal.unida.gontor.ac.id/index.php/quranika/article/view/11212Analisis Dhikr sebagai Kesadaran Tauhid dalam Surah Thaha [20] Ayat 14: Perspektif Al-Tafsir Mafatih Al-Ghayb dan Semiotika Karl Buhler2024-05-20T11:07:57+07:00Eva Nariaevanaria37@gmail.com Piet Hizbullah Khaidirpietkhaidir@gmail.comM. One form of the word in the form of isim masdar is found in QS. Thaha [20]: 14. This research is a library research with an analysis approach of the Qur'an (interpretation) and philosophy. The method used in this study is the method of philosophical interpretation of Muhammad Fakhr al-Din al-Razi and Karl Buhler's Psycholinguistic Semiotics. The main objective of this study is to determine the relationship between dhikr and tauhid. The researcher describes data about the concept of dhikr in the Qur'an Surah Thaha [20]: 14 perspectives of al-Tafsir Mafatih al-Ghayb and Karl Buhler's Psycholinguistic Semiotics. The results obtained from this study are that dhikr as monotheistic awareness is not enough to be done only with theoretical knowledge. Monotheism that is carried out only with theoretical knowledge will only be informative. Therefore, it is necessary to have an awareness of knowledge and an actual awareness that is affirmative in nature, to achieve true monotheism.
2024-08-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 eva naria, Piet Hizbullah Khaidir, M. Based on this issue, the researcher aims to uncover the scientific signs behind Surah Ash-Shams verses 1-5, such as the sun, moon, day, night, and the sky. This research refers to the commentary of Zaghloul An-Najjar due to his expertise in the field of earth sciences, making the study more effective in revealing the truth of the Quran. The research method used is qualitative with a scientific-themed maudhui commentary approach. This study is a literature review using descriptive analysis methods. The results obtained from this research are: Firstly, the immense benefits and materials of sunlight cannot be replaced by human-made alternatives. Secondly, the natural phenomena called solar and lunar eclipses. Thirdly, sunlight influences the production of serotonin hormone during the day, while the increasing darkness of the night helps the production of melatonin hormone. Fourthly, behind the visible sunlight, there is a daytime layer surrounding the earth above the Earth's atmospheric layer, allowing solar energy to reach the Earth. Finally, the vastness of the sky in outer space is discussed, leading to various galaxies and clusters of galaxies.
2024-08-15T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 ilham habubullahhttps://ejournal.unida.gontor.ac.id/index.php/quranika/article/view/12310Kaidah ‘Am dalam al-Qur’an: Kajian terhadap Surat al-Ahzab Ayat 59 Serta Implikasinya terhadap Ketentuan Berhijab bagi Perempuan Muslim2024-08-05T13:48:00+07:00Moh. However, the obligation of hijab in QS. Al-Ahzab (33): 59 has become problematic to fashion trends. This study analyzes the rules and meanings in QS. Al-Ahzab (33): 59 and its implications for the provisions of hijab for Muslim women. This study uses thematic interpretation and content analysis methods to explore the message contained in the verse. In addition to discussing the command to use the hijab as an identity, this article also discusses QS. Al-Ahzab (33): 59 from the historical context of the verse's revelation, interpretations from various tafsir scholars, and its relevance in the modern context. The results show that the command to wear hijab in this verse aims to maintain the honor and identity of Muslim women, as well as protect them from unwanted actions. The implication of this verse on the provision of hijab emphasizes the importance of hijab as a symbol of obedience and religious identity that must be maintained by every Muslim woman. It is hoped that this research will be able to become a pivot to be studied further and in depth for further researchers.
2024-08-19T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Mohammad Akib Muslim, Anisa Alya Rahma
