Uji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol 70% daun papaya terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes secara difusi

Propionibacterium acnes merupakan salah satu flora normal pada kulit manusia, bakteri mendominasi didaerah folikel sebasea kulit dan dapat menyebabkan jerawat Kketika menginfeksi kulit. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun papaya dan konsentrasi optimum untuk menghambat bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Daun pepaya diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi memakai etanol 70%. Skrining fitokimia ekstrak daun pepaya terhadap kandungan flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin dan saponin. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi paper disc dengan kontrol positif klindamisin serta dengan kontrol negatif DMSO 5%. Hasil skrining fitokimia ekstrak positif ada senyawa flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin dan saponin. Dari pengujian aktivitas ini, ekstrak daun pepaya mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri ditandai dengan adanya zona bening disekitar cakram. Berdasarkan kesimpulan ekstrak daun pepaya dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes.
