ABSTRACT
Sleeping mask is a skin care product that can moisturize and treat acne. Green tea leaves contain flavonoids, tannins and alkaloids as antibacterial activity. Green tea leaves are macerated with 96% ethanol. The green tea leaf extract obtained is made into a sleeping mask. This research aims to determine the green tea leaf extract sleeping mask preparation against Propionibacterium acnes, and the effect of gelling agent variations on physical quality tests, as well as to find out the best formula by looking at physical quality and stability tests and has good antibacterial activity. Making sleeping masks with carbopol variations of 0.5, 1, and 1.5% using green tea leaf extract obtained from maceration with 96% ethanol solvent. Sleeping preparations were tested for Propionibacterium acnes antibacterial activity and physical quality and stability tests. Antibacterial activity testing using disc diffusion. The research results were analyzed statistically using one-way ANOVA and Kruskal-wallis methods. The results of this research show that green tea leaves have antibacterial activity with an inhibitory zone of 9.5mm, the variation of carbopol 940 can influence the physical quality and stability tests and the resulting inhibition zone, and the best formula is formula II because it meets the physical quality test and pH stability of 5.73 spreadability 5cm, adhesion power 2.49 seconds and viscosity 37.533 and antibacterial activity 7.30 mm.
