Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic prompted restrictions on face-to-face meetings, forcing people to stay at home and reduce social interactions. One of the impacts is on zakat transactions, this raises questions about the validity of online zakat management. Therefore, the author is interested in reviewing the validity of online zakat management according to the views of the scholar Wahbah Az-Zuhaili. This research is a type of grounded research, a qualitative approach where data is obtained through in-depth interviews with trusted sources from. The data will be evaluated to the theories contained in Wahbah Az-Zuhaili’s books, especially “Fiqh Al-Islam Wa Adilatuhu.†The research results show several discrepancies with Wahbah Az-Zuhaili’s opinion. First, as Muslims, we should not judge something based on how much good comes from it. Better, we should spread knowledge about Islamic law to other people. Second, the BAZNAS Yogyakarta institution must be more active in socializing its programs to the community
